Boeing777 is flying under the radar
Re: Sothwest News

Southwest shouldn't slump as bad as other airlines because they do fly "fuel-efficient" 737s and the winglets seem to look like a great investment for them too!

I'm not a forune-teller, BUT I'm sure that in near future, there will be a BIG problem in the low-cost market (like there was a difficult time for airlines in the 80s and 90s).

Re: Sothwest News

As the US economy slows, ours continues to remain strong with a strong dollar, so we are now flying and spending more and more in the US. US carriers are still cheaper to fly than on Canadian carries when travelling South. Flights and rooms should start getting much cheaper to keep people spending.

Re: Sothwest News

I'll tell ya what though guys, people are looking more at the low costs than the carrier these days and AirTran and Southwest have been cheapest on the routes I intend to fly on soon. Delta was third, but you have to wonder if they are really making any money with their low cost tickets!

Look at their financials and you can see. The low cost airlines have to operate cheaper than the big boys and the low cost restrict their growth and enforce their no frills policy. Remember the TLC series Airlines which featured Southwest, you learned a lot from how they do buisness.
