These pilot questions make me want to turn in my certificate... That's what happened, haha

I also don't know much about instrument proceedures. I know a bit here and there, but not much.

OK, this a full approach, procedure turns and all. You're in a C210P, landing gear, controllable prop, flaps, the whole shootin match. Approach will be down to minimums. When would you want to have your gear down, flaps down, prop at max? Landing configuration. This is a VOR approach into any airport you chose. Think good and hard. Think about what you'll be doing on the approach and that should help.

I haven't heard from our resident wiseguy Kardar. Hope I didn't scare the little guy away!

Snowin' like hell up here. Nice to see you working for once. I don't know about 27. I'm alittle worried. No news is not always good news.

I will be waiting patiently for your answer. Now, wahoo has to shovel so his wife can get out tomorrow morning.

It'll all be done in vain. It's supposed to snow another 4-7 tomorrow.

I'd say about 10 DME out is when you'd want to have the plane in landing configuration.

When you reach the final approach fix? You want gear down and flaps set for approach. Full flaps when you get closer.

You're on course, slightly to the left and correcting!

I was on a Part 135 checkride when I came steaming in on the IAF (Initial approach fix), I was in a big hurry trying to put gear down, flaps, slow the plane, time, turn the whole nine yards. The check airman said let's try this again. I was baffled. He said, have the plane slowed down before the IAF. Before the IAF throw some flaps in, gear down and props forward. Then when the plane settled down I was only concentrating on the approach and not configuring. You'll be in a frame of mind for an approach. So you want the plane configured for landing by the IAF to make your life easier. And as you said, throw in more flaps when you're assured landing.

Here's a tip, don't put flaps in until you've started the descent on final. You could go right back in the clouds. Then it's a missed approach.

Ok, here's an easy one. It is March in the upper peninsula. 9 AM arrival into ESC. It is about 2 miles west of Lake Michigan. There is a foot of snow on the ground. Air temperature is 40 F. Water temp is 32 F. Winds 270 at 7 knots. What kind of weather could you expect?

Second question is a fun one. What is the only airline to fly to Easter Island 2000 miles from any body of land off Chile?
