The Hellenic Air Force (HAF) (in Greek: Πολεμική Αεροπορία (ΠΑ), Polemikí Aeroporía, literally "Military Aviation") is the air force of Greece. The mission of the Hellenic Air Force is to guard and protect Greek airspace, provide air assistance and support to the Hellenic Army and the Hellenic Navy, as well as the provision of humanitarian aid in Greece and around the world.
During the period of monarchy (1911-1922) & (1935-1974) the force was known as the Royal Hellenic Air Force (HRAF), (Ελληνική Βασιλική Αεροπορία (EBA), Ellinikí Vasilikí Aeroporía).
The motto of the Hellenic Air Force is "Αίεν Υψικρατείν" (Aien Ypsikratein), Always Dominate the Heights, and the HAF ensign represents a flying eagle in front of the Hellenic Air Force roundel. The Hellenic Air Force is one of the three branches of the Hellenic Armed Forces.
My personal highlight at RIAT 2007 is for sure this special coloured HAF Hercules showing Herakles on the tail. The title means "Hercules continues his labors, anywhere, anytime" and additionally to this the Greek cockade has been changed in a way to represent the 12 labors of Hercules. What an excellent idea! It also celebrates 170.00hrs are being celebrated.

| Model Review
| | Mould & Assembly: There is really nothing new to the mould since my last C-130 review so here we go again…
Starting with the bad things about this mode; As other reviewers commented about the C-130, the nose gear is correctly placed, but is it much too tall and the tire much too small. This makes the model look weird. The main gears look ok, as does the main gear doors. The horizontal stabilizer looks ok too, even if they might be a little bit thick. The vertical stabilizer has the correct shape, but has an ugly joint to the fuselage and is lacking the correct details.
The wings look great and are connected directly into the side of the fuselage and this could have been a good thing if the seam was invisible, but it is not.
The engine pylons look strange and even if the props are able to spin freely, they are way too thick. But the Hercules is a tiny model and it may be impossible to do this better without using resin parts. In all (apart from the nose gear) it looks like a C-130. Realism: The livery is something special on this bird and it looks great. This paint scheme is pretty new and was used for the first time at RIAT 2007 (I think) to celebrate the first 170.000 hours of flying time. Herpa manage to reproduce this paint scheme well. I love the camouflage, this is how herks are supposed to look…
The cockpit windows is really the only thing that lowers the notes for this aircraft, it is really bad and makes it looks like a toy. Details: Details, details, details. Sure there are some basic details, but it lacks a lot of details. I miss all the lumps, bumps and antennas, I miss the intake for the cargo compartment air condition in front of the main gear, etc etc. As this is a military aircraft all these details and decals make the model looks so much better. The cockpit windows are fairly well placed.
