On February 18, 1963, Austrian Airlines commissioned its first of five jets. The Caravelle, registered OE-LCA, represented an enormous gain in prestige for the airline. The limited model is equipped with rubber tires and, behind its cockpit, carries the logo of the Olympic Winter Games, held in Innsbruck in 1964.

| | Mould and Assembly: The Herpa Austrian Caravelle model is well detailed and accurate, considering its scale.
The mould's size is correct and all parts appear to fit together with no major gaps. The model is finished in high quality and is well executed. The model's assembly is adequate, although more attention should be given to the tail section. This model vividly replicates the actual plane.
Livery: The simple Austrian Airlines livery on this model was a good choice by Herpa. The livery is accurate for the most part, although minor color issues are visible. Overall, all details present in the actual aircraft are reproduced in this model. The print quality is excellent. The paint and shades of colors used on this model are slightly lighter than that of the actual aircraft.
Details: The mould of this model is well detailed. The livery contains all details present on the actual aircraft. The printed details are adequate for the most part, although the cockpit windows could have been better executed. All other details appear to be printed correctly. The engines are nicely reproduced and well detailed. The landing gears appear to be delicate and sized to scale. The details on this model are appropriate for this scale with all visible details present and reproduced nicely for the most part.
