Continental Airlines (IATA: CO, ICAO: COA, Callsign: CONTINENTAL) (NYSE: CAL) is as you all know a major American airline based and headquartered in Continental Center I in Downtown Houston, Texas.
June 2009 – Continental Airlines took delivery of another new Boeing 737- 900ER, which was painted with a retro livery to commemorate the airline’s 75th anniversary. The new aircraft’s retro livery, which was originally used on aircraft beginning in 1947 and is called The Blue Skyway, was selected by Continental employees. Continental flew the aircraft to its three hubs for anniversary celebration events for employees and retirees.

| | Mould and Assembly: So it is finally time to review this nice little bird. Starting from the nose, Herpa is getting better. It looks better than other 737s. The only remark is that it sits a little low as the landing gear is a bit too big and the nose gear doors are too small, they are supposed to reach a millimeter or so to the front of the aircraft. It gives the nose a funny look. The fuselage looks good overall, it reassembles the aircraft well. There are not so many remarks on the mould, just that the winglets do not look like the originals. Even the engines looks good, even if they sit far too low, due to the gear issue mentioned earlier.
Livery: This is the downside. Even if it is a nice idea to make a model of this beautiful aircraft, Herpa manages to mess it up. I don’t know why, I can’t put my fingers on the exact reason. Is the window line too low or the “cheat line” to high? It should definitely not be printed on each other. And there is more; The quality of the printing is really low, especially on the lines and the logo in the front of the aircraft where the colours mix with each other and looks hand painted by a 8 year old schoolboy. That is not acceptable even if the rest of the aircraft is printed well.
Details: For Herpa it is OK, but in the view of the competition, not OK. To many details are missing, it makes the aircraft looks naked.
