For the classic German spotter and collector this is a must have. Though I do not live anywhere around Germany, I must say this is a very nice model. It gives you another perspective of a aircraft that is not as common as say a 737 or even Q-400. For the most part this model is detailed. There are only a few nit picky things I'm going to show to you.
Herpa states:When Delta commissioned its first MD-11 example in 1992, it proved to be far from a mature design. Numerous defects in its theoretically outstanding structure led to Delta’s decision to overturn their fleet plans and replace the airplane with Boeing 777s. The N806DE is released in the classic “Widget” design which embossed the airline’s image for more than 40 years. Since the launch of a new livery ten years ago, that image has been changed three more times again.
A 1:200 MD-11 - how cool - let's check this one out.

From the 60s on, Swissair was partially considered the best European airline and therefore also one of the best worldwide. One reason was the early purchase of the DC-8, the back then new and revolutionary jet airplane of the preferred vendor Douglas. The DC-8-32, registered HB-IDB 1960 and named “Basel-Stadt” was commissioned mainly for North Atlantic routes. Herpa Wings releases a model of this legendary aircraft as full-metal model in the 1/200 scale.
So let's see if this full-metal model is worth its weight in gold....

Despite the significantly delayed delivery of the A380, Qantas even increased their order of 12 aircraft by another eight. The first ordered A380 has already received a registration and should take up service as VH-OQA by the end of 2008. Herpa Wings is already releasing this gigantic airplane model in the 1/200 scale.
So they are finally rolling off the assembly line and we get a chance to look at the second generation of A380 models.
Kaliningradavia stems from Aeroflot’s former Kaliningrad directorate, which until 1945 was Königsberg in Imperial German East Prussia. The airline operates a fleet consisting solely of Boeing 737s, to which the original of this model novelty, registered EI-DJR also belongs.
So a 1:400 737 from Herpa? Due to the current situation in the market (more or less saturation), Let's see if the Herpa 737 can hold its own.

Herpa states:
In February of 1956, Continental Airlines of Houston, Texas became launching carrier of the top model of the General Dynamics “Convair Liner”-family. It was called CV-440 “Metropolitan” and was together with the Douglas DC-6B, which was equipped with the same engines, probably the world’s best airliner powered by piston engines. At Continental, more than 20 CV-440s were operated for 10 years, as was the original of this metal model, manufactured in 1956 and registered N90862.
Isn't this nice, a Convair CV-440 in 1:400!

Alitalia commissioned 21 examples of the Sud Aviation Caravelle 6N series. The original, registered I-DABA and the name “Regolo” was the first to be launched in 1961. The model, limited to 1,000 examples, will carry the Italian airline’s livery launched in 1970.
So we get a limited edition SUD Caravelle in Alitalia colors? Let's take a look!
