Technically outstanding but completely out of step with the market was the Fairchild Dornier 328Jet, manufactured in a turboprop version -100 as well as a jet version –300. Only 83 –300 examples were sold before bankruptcy was unavoidable. That the financial guillotine fell simultaneously with the rollout of the promising 728, was especially tragic. The Danish Sun Air from Billund operates numerous 328-100s and –300s as a franchisee for British Airways – among them the OY-NCM, which is now released in the 1/200 scale. “Bulgarian air charter” was founded in 2000 and performs commercial flights for transportation of passengers, cargo and mail to Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East and the Indian Ocean. The Tu-154M was used mostly for flying charter flights based on contracts with well known foreign tour-operators. The TU-154 was the main workhorse during the first important years of business. But in 2004, when “Bulgarian air charter” bought second hand B737s, the Tu-154 was retired. It was considered far too dirty, uneconomical and unsafe to handle.
But the Tu-154M is still a very beautiful aircraft to watch and an important part of the aviation history. So Herpa made a good choice.

With its so-called “Paradise Colors”, which decorate almost all aircraft in the Bangkok Air fleet, Thailand’s first private airline actively promotes the destinations it serves. Based in the new Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok airways flies to twenty destinations with it's fleet of 717's, ATR's, A320's, and A319's. So the third and latest A320-200, registered HS-PGW, carries the name Samui. Its livery illustrates the beauties of its namesake island, Ko Samui, in the Gulf of Thailand.

Olympic Airlines is the successor company of the three airlines Olympic Airways, Olympic Aviation and Macedonian Airlines. The original of this model, an ATR-72/200, registered SX-BII stems from the former Aviation fleet and was commissioned with the name “Hippocrates” in April 1993 as one of currently seven examples. Together with six smaller ATR-42s, the short-haul fleet serves the widely scattered islands of the Greek Aegean.
Named Boi Taull, EC-HGZ was registered and entered service with Iberia in 2000. Designed to replace the aging 727, the a320 family has served Iberia well, fulfilling all of the duties required by a workhorse. Iberia has been a member of the Oneworld Alliance since 1999 and this model proudly showcases the oneworld logo on both sides, near the front doors. Herpa really took time with the little details on this model, as evident in the oneworld logos. While many airlines prefer to only have the logos on the boarding doors on the port side, Iberia has decided to also display their pride for the alliance on the starboard side, which Herpa replicates. Many consider Herpa to have the best 1:500 line, second only to Starjets, and this model certainly lives up to this reputation. Overall, an excellent model for 1:500 scale.
Switzerland’s national airline too, wants to use the promotional effect of the European Football Championship. As“Airline for all Fans”, Swiss Air Lines decorated its Airbus A320, registered HB-IJM, with hundreds of real fan pictures, collected in a competition. Since November 1, 2007, the football airplane with the German-Swiss battle cry “Hopp Schwiiz” on one side of the fuselage and the French version “Hop Suisse” on the other, has been on tour across Europe. Now a 1/400 scale model of the football airplane will be released.
Finally, Herpa brings out this classic bird which was widely operated at his time, althought it has massive concurrence especially from Boeing. LTU operated some of these birds in the early jet-age - from 1965. This particular one was acquired in 1968, registration is D-ABAP, and was used for the LTU holiday flights. This one is a must have for every collector, especially for those who like classical jets.
Southwest's Shamu paint scheme is one of the most recognized special liveries by aviation enthusiasts and even the general public. There are currently three Shamu's flying right now, two of which are Boeing 737-700's. Herpa chose to produce the aircraft with the registration N713SW. This recently painted aircraft features Southwest's Canyon Blue livery hiding behind the Orca Whale and on the tail. The aircraft also features gray blended winglets, included on the model as well.
