This special release was for Qatar Airways inflight sales only. A special livery for the 2006 Asian games, this model - along with its sister ships - has become one of the most sought-after Herpa NG models over the past few years.Let's see if it lives up to its reputation.

Model Review
| | Mould and Assembly: What is there to say about the A330 mould. This mould is pretty good. the nose section is correct and has the correct feel. The tail is also nicely done, reproducing the curves of the tail cone along with the vertical stabilizer root bulge.
The wing root however shows a large gap that should be reduced somewhat. The wing itself is nice and the winglets are also nicely done - even if they are a little thick. The engine pylons are a little thick as well, but that's OK.
Livery: What is there not to like about this livery? The colors are correct, the livery reproduced correctly and it really looks cool. The rest of the livery is just right. The airline name is placed correctly on the fuselage, the Games logo under the cockpit it were it should be. This however shows the shortcoming of the mould - when placed correctly in regards to the door, it should be much closer to the cockpit windows. And if you shift the livery and windows forward, the door no longer lines up with the front landing gear. And at the back, the door and windows are too low.
Details: All of the standard details are here - NG gear (do I even need to mention that?) the APU (albeit not as well done as it could be)and the doors. there are however some details that could be added. the horizontal stabilizer plates for instance.... And some of the other finer details, such as more engine details would be nice - especially for a limited edition inflight model.
